What I Learned Driving through Dallas...

For my first of two trips out of state in the month of July, I headed to Texas to 1) bring a family friend home from helping at our VBS last week, 2) spend time with these family friends at their home, 3) and meet with an "uncle and aunt" (friends-like-family) who I haven't seen in eight years who also happen to live in Texas. Picking up where we left off was easy, but it did make me miss when they lived in the same city. I also had the opportunity to ask them all sorts of questions for my work-in-progress and listen to stories. It was such a sweet time to worship the Lord by remembering His faithfulness and grace.

So, because I am out of state and vacationing, this will be brief. However, I'll leave you with a few thoughts on what I learned driving through Dallas. :)

  • Dallas, TX traffic is busier than Springfield, MO.

  • Texans drive fast.

  • Sometimes the speed limit is dangerously slow.

  • If it's my time to go, it's my time to go.

  • However, I am invincible until the Lord decides it is my time.

  • Express Lanes are easy to get on...accidentally.

  • Spending time with loved ones is worth the trip. Just do it.

  • God is glorified in the reminiscence of His faithfulness.

  • Worship can look like sitting at a restaurant table.

  • Jobs, homes, and circumstances are temporary, but relationships have the opportunity to be eternal. And it's beautiful when they are.

  • Someday, there will be no more goodbyes.

  • Your life has the potential to leave a long-lasting legacy in someone else's story.

  • Family is more than blood. And praise the Lord for that!
