So, I was sitting here at 10pm, thinking to myself,
"Self, if you skip a Monday of posting this summer, you will lose the motivation to continue your goal of consistently posting three days a week. You have to post SOMETHING."
So, here I am. Usually my Monday and Friday posts don't get a whole lot of traffic anyway, so this will be brief.
If you were here last week and had a read over my "identity crisis" post, you may be wondering if I have given up writing.
No. I don't think that was the point of the Lord's conviction on my heart. However, I am still praying through what writing looks like moving forward, and I do think that, at least for a season, my writing will be different than what I expected.
For clarity... Former expectation: To write many published, fiction, action novels and become a famous YA author.
And friends, I think that's changing. At least for a time.
Enter my current work-in-progress. I have so much peace about this project and so much EXCITEMENT. And while it is a heavy project, I haven't been so excited about writing since starting on Midnight in 2020.
And with all that excitement and intrigue on the table, I'm not going to share too much publicly yet, as I want to wait until I have officially started the project to do a reveal.
Here's what I will tell you though:
It's not a novel.
It is very personal.
There is so much of God's grace in it.
It requires research. Which includes a trip to Texas in July.
My hope is to have a first draft finished by September.
And there is a special reason why September is my goal.
I'm sorry I can't share more at the moment, but it helps to build suspense! :) I would also love to hear your guesses!
